A pedestrian is still in a serious condition after a collision in Hampden Park last Wednesday (November 4).

At about 5.40pm a 55-year old from Eastbourne was crossing the road in Brassey Avenue at the junction with Brand Road, when she was in collision with a silver Peugeot 206 driven by an 18-year old local woman.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries to her head and body, and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Police say she has been improving, however she remains in hospital.

The car driver was unhurt.

PC Gavin Spencer said, “This was rush hour on Wednesday and happened on a busy road near Hampden Park station.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything which might help with our investigation.

“Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact the police via collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting Operation Hunter.”
