TREASURE Island on Eastbourne seafront will throw its doors open to the public next week (Friday July 20).
The new owners of the adventure park say they want everyone to enjoy free entry between 4-7pm and try out the indoor soft play, outdoor park and Pirate Adventure Golf.
The event will also mark the official opening of the attraction by Eastbourne Bonfire Society, whose members will re-enact the “Re-taking of the Black Pearl”.
Phil Lewin from Treasure Island said, “There will be lots of fun and pirate adventure for everyone to see. The Bonfire Society has had a tremendous impact on services for tourism in Eastbourne and Treasure Island looks forward to having a long term relationship with them. After all, pirates have got to stick together.”
The re-opening of the park by new owners TI Eastbourne comes after a long period of closure when the previous firm running it, Coasta Ltd, went under.
The centre remained closed throughout last summer when Coasta Ltd went into administration owing Eastbourne Borough Council more than £73,000.
TI Eastbourne Ltd struck a deal with the council, took over the lease for an undisclosed sum and included rent arrears paid to the council.
