A former teacher has admitted 10 sex offences against boys at a Seaford school.

Christopher Robin Jarvis, 69, of Dukes Drive, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to six counts of indecent assault and four counts of gross indecency when he appeared at Lewes Crown Court last week.

The offences took place between 1966 and 1977 at St Peter’s Preparatory School in Seaford.

The school, which was based in Crouch Lane, no longer exists. It closed its doors in 1982.

The charges related to seven boys aged between 10 and 14.

Jarvis denied 14 other sex offences which the judge said would lie on file.

Jarvis, who also taught at St Bede’s School in Eastbourne – although no charges relate to this school – was charged following allegations made in October 12.

An investigation was launched by Sussex Police specialist child protection detectives. He will be sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on December 13.
