A FORMER Seaford schoolgirl has landed a role in a popular TV series.

Dakota Blue Richards has been in the acting industry since 11 and appeared with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig in The Golden Compass four years ago.

The 16-year-old, who attended Newlands School in Seaford, landed the role of Franky Fitzgerald in the E4 drama Skins.

The teenager had auditioned for the role of Liv but was offered the part of androgynous Franky.

She was reported in a national newspaper as saying, “I sort of blindly said yes to Franky, although I had no idea what the character was like.

“I didn’t expect her to be like that. It was difficult to play her because she doesn’t do anything like me.”
