Members of Seaford Photographic Society held their annual ‘Nature’ print competition on Friday.

It drew a wide variety of impressive images – birds, insects, plants and animals.

The judge was Bob Webzell from Brighton, a well-respected photographer with strong links to Africa and the Masai people who has visited the society many times in the past.

He chose three contrasting pictures as the best of the bunch.

The winning entry by Cathryn Mantovani was entitled ‘Evening Catch’ and featured a lone seabird with a fish in its beak (pictured above).

In second place was Ruth Cattrell with ‘Wild Tiger, India’ – a big cat having a stretch – and third was Steve Wares with ‘Murmuration’ – a large flock of starlings over the remains of Brighton’s West Pier at sunset.
