Firefighters inspect Eastbourne Town Hall after storm damage fears

East Sussex Fire and Rescue were called out to the Town Hall after fears there could be structural damage caused by Storm Doris.

A council spokesperson said, “During the high winds on Thursday movement was seen in a small area of the Town Hall roof.

“East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service attended and removed some roofing that had become loose.”

High winds whipped through Eastbourne during Wednesday night and into Thursday after Sussex was hit by Storm Doris. The north of the country suffered the brunt of the storm, with snow and winds reaching up to 100mph.
