THE ROTARY Tree of Light Christmas Tree returns to the Congress Theatre this December.
It will be covered by a host of white lights and on December 11 visitors are invited to tie a white ribbon in memory of someone.
The dedication ceremony takes place at 4pm on December 11 when the Deputy Mayor officially turns on the lights. It will be a simple ceremony with readings and poems, singing from the Ratton Chamber Choir, carols played by the Salvation Army band and time to tie ribbons and reflect on special memories of loved ones.
Eastbourne College Chaplin, Reverend Christopher Macdonald, will bless the tree and free refreshments are supplied by Eastbourne Rotarians.
Councillors from CRUSE, bereavement charity will also be on hand to give support where needed.
This will be the 13th year that a tree has been erected by Rotary in Eastbourne. It has been donated by PJ Skips and sponsored by local businesses.
Each person dedicating a light will be invited to write a message which will be put in a book of remembrance placed in Eastbourne Library which can also be viewed on the website: www.eastbournetreeoflight.co.uk
Dedications can be made through the website or by completing a form available from the Congress Theatre Foyer or in The Herald.
