Little Christmas in Little Chelsea is taking place today (Friday) from 5.30pm-10pm.
South Street will be closed to traffic for the evening, with plenty of shops in South Street and Grove Road joining in the festive fun.
There will also be a range of street stalls selling a variety of Christmas goodies and tasty treats. Local bands and choirs will be performing, as well as the Long Man Morris Dancers.
Father Christmas will be welcoming youngsters to his grotto and his reindeer will be taking a break in a pen outside the Town Hall.
Other attractions include a tombola, competitions and funfair rides.
For the first time this year, youngsters are invited to join in a children’s Christmas tree decoration competition.
The hand-made decorations will be displayed on a Christmas Tree outside the main library in Grove Road. Prizes will be awarded on the night presented by the mayor and MP.
Little Christmas is an event organise entirely by the traders themselves and every year a proportion of any proceeds raise are donated to a chosen local charity.
