College students coaching young children

STUDENTS at Eastbourne Technology College have been out in the community coaching young children in football skills.

ETC teacher and Brighton coach, Sasha Arnold, said, "We've had a brilliant time. Our students have been wonderful showing new levels of maturity and responsibility while the local children from Hampden Park Infant and Highfield schools have been a pleasure to work with.

"Our students take them through warm up sessions, concentrate on ball skills, and finish off with a mini-tournament. The scheme has been so

successful we are extending the coaching sessions and will be teaching students aged four to 11.

"This sort of activity does a great deal in building links between schools and in the community and in educating our students to develop a whole range of skills."

Students are pictured with pupils at the two schools.
