A trip back in time for Ocklynge pupils

Pupils at Ocklynge Junior School enjoyed a trip back in time when the East Sussex Archaeology and Museums Service visited.

During the day, hundreds of children visited this travelling exhibition.

The outreach session looked at the work of archaeologists and the year three children took the opportunity to study aspects of Saxon life which is their history project.

Head of the lower school Alan Shuttleworth said, "This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to examine real artefacts which have been found in our area and to talk about the lives of Saxon people."
