THE FATHER of sportsman Chris Lambird, who died of cancer, has penned a special song in memory of his son and to raise money.

David Lambird wrote Sporting Memories @ Riechip Lodge and it has now been recorded and produced on a CD which is on sale for £5, with all proceeds from the sale going to the Friends of Eastbourne Hospitals.

Chris lost his battle with cancer in May 2007 but his family and friends have so far raised thousands of pounds for the Pevensey Unit for cancer patients.

David said, “Chris was a man of many parts - made up of his family, his love of people, travel, sport and Scotland. He so loved Scotland and Riechip.

“The CD was produced to celebrate Chris’ life and love of Riechip.

“Phil Davies set the poem to music with David Coe on vocals.

“Everyone including Phil Davies, Rod Pooley, CMP Studios and Tom Askaroff gave their time and expenses freely and all the money raised will go to the Friends of Eastbourne Hospitals to purchase vitally needed equipment.”

The CD is on sale now through the Friends of Eastbourne Hospitals.
