Authors Simon Brett and Jay Cassie will be among the headline visitors to this weekend’s Sussex Over-50s Show which takes place in the Winter Garden.

Prolific murder-mystery writer Simon Brett, who lives in Sussex, will be talking about his work and life twice daily at the show which runs on Saturday and Sunday. Simon is the writer responsible for the Charles Paris, Mrs Pargeter and Fethering series of crime novels, as well as radio and television series such as No Commitments and After Henry

While GiddyLimits’ editor, Jay Cassie, and author of “Oh My Giddy Aunt!” will be talking about her experiences of moving from a demanding career as a businesswoman to a life of greater diversity and enjoyment after retirement. Both will be holding book signings.

Last year’s show attracted more than 4,000 visitors, and this year’s event will feature more than 160 exhibitors, live cooking demonstrations, dance and fitness displays and a series of talks from a number of celebrity guests, who also include popular Meridian TV presenter, Fred Dinenage.

The Food Hall will be home to a superb array of foods such as cheeses, farm foods, pies, with Moroccan, Turkish and Indian cuisine.

There will also be wine tasting in both the Food Hall and Floral Hall.

Every day of the exhibition, there will be a hair and make-up makeover for two lucky ladies .

The two stages will be offering various seminars and presentations through the two days on a host of subjects geared towards the over-50s.

The event is very much geared towards active and life-loving over 50s, and there really will be something for everyone, with the exhibition hall split in to five zones covering everything from home and lifestyle, entertainment, leisure, fitness, beauty, fashion, travel, wining and dining, nutrition, arts and crafts, law and finance.

Doors open at 10am on both days.
