Eastbourne’s Spiro Explorer Scouts have been busy raising funds for a two week adventure in New York this summer.
The mixed group of 24 Scouts aged between 14 and 18 volunteered to wash the town’s Dotto train in time for its summer of service along the seafront.
Supervised by local Stagecoach engineering manager Paul Koc, who’s been a Scout leader for 18 years, the youngsters gave up their Friday evening to freshen-up the Dotto train and its carriages.
Paul, 35 from Westham, will be leading the Scout Unit on their trip to New York which will include activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, all terrain vehicle driving, shooting and hiking.
Explorer Scouts have raised £11,300 so far.
