Enjoying a taste of the continent

FOOD fans were treated to an array of international flavours at a recent continental market on Eastbourne seafront.

Hundreds of people headed to the promenade earlier this month, as dozens of traders showed their wares – which included pots of paella, chunks of chocolate cakes and crates of crepes.

And among the more popular gastro-attractions was Daniel Tartflette’s spicy potatoes and the tubs of giant prawns.

The success of the continental market is likely to increase support for a new street market in Terminus Road – at the end closest to the seafront.

Councillors have already signalled their intent to start-up fortnightly roadside sales for around 32 stalls between the coast road and Langney Road.
