There are major problems on the A27 this morning (Monday) after two accidents and an overturned car.

One lane is blocked and there is queuing traffic for eight miles on the A27 eastbound in Lewes between Patcham and Ashcombe Roundabout, because of two accidents and an overturned car.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was mobilised at 7.04am this morning to reports of a road traffic collision on the A27 eastbound at Kingston near Lewes.

Two appliances from Lewes and Preston Circus and one officer were mobilised to the incident.

The collision involved one private vehicle, no persons were trapped.

After making the area safe crews left the scene at 7.30pm.
