A 44-year-old Eastbourne woman has become the latest local driver to be charged with drink-driving as part of Sussex Police’s Christmas crackdown.

Linda Thompson, of Cornish Close, Eastbourne, was arrested shortly after 2am on December 9 after her car hit a tree in Princes Road. She has now been charged with dangerous driving and drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on February 11.

A total of 33 people have so far been convicted of offences as part of the December 2014 campaign, while a further 117 have been charged with offences and await court appearances.
