An Eastbourne secretary has been disqualified from driving and fined after being convicted as part of Sussex Police’s crackdown and drink and drug-driving.

Alison White, of Lincoln Close in Eastbourne, was arrested in Eastbourne Road, Willingdon, on December 12 and charged with driving with 92mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.

The 51-year-old pleaded guilty at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (December 30) and was disqualified from driving for 23 months. She was also ordered to pay a £815 fine, £85 costs and a £81.50 victim surcharge.

A total of 180 arrests have now been made in the county since Operation Dragonfly - Surrey and Sussex Police’s Christmas crackdown on drink and drug-driving - launched on 1 December.

Of these, 26 have been convicted, and a further 72 have been charged to appear in court.
