EATERIES across Eastbourne have signed up to take part in a fundaiser for Sussex’s only children’s hospice.
The Chesnut Tree House is holding a restaurant challenge all this month which involves participating venues encouraging customers to add an extra £1 to their bill.
All proceeds then go to the hospice and a similar scheme last year generated £4,500 across East Sussex – a sum which helped pay for the care of the 260 life-limited children who used the charity.
Restaurants taking part in the Eastbourne area challenge include The English Wine Centre, in Alfriston Road, Berwick, Picasso’s, at 10 Mark Lane, The Belgium Cafe, at 11-23 Grand Parade, Will’s Restaurant & Bar, at 8 Hyde Gardens, and Printers Bar Brasserie, at 12 Station Street. It is hoped that others will sign up during June and their details will be published on the hospice’s website www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk.
