PEOPLE are being invited to hit the high notes for an Eastbourne Shout on Monday May 2.
It will be held at 3pm at the Bandstand.
Organiser Miz Wells said, “Eastbourne Shout! is back. More than 300 people sang with us last year and now it’s bigger, brighter, better and at the Bandstand.
“We need everyone - singing-in-the-shower types, Karaoke queens and even those who pretend they never sing - to turn up and lend us their pipes.
“It’s not about whether or not you can sing well, it’s about feeling good and creating a shared community memory.
“This year’s shout brings us songs from a variety of ages, Greensleeves, Summer Time, Yellow Submarine, Mamma Mia, and a Lady Ga Ga Medley.
“We will of course warm up with last year’s favourite, Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside to get us all in the mood.
“Get in on the act – all you need to do is turn up, bring your friends, family and neighbours with you if you can, and join in.
“Song sheets will be available on the day but people can learn the songs in advance by clicking Eastbourne Shout! at website www.ratton.e-sussex.sch.uk.
“Our Shout leaders will be on hand to lead you in this mass sing--long, this year assisted by some very special guests from West Rise Junior School.
“For too long Eastbourne has had a reputation of a stuffy old fashioned town with nothing going on. Eastbourne is, however, a diverse town boasting residents from a number of cultures and generations.
“We have a large number of young families, young people, grandparents and great grandparents. People who have lived here all their lives and people who have travelled a long way to live here. Make sure you’re represented, come along and sing along.”
Eastbourne Shout! is part of the My Playground Project, a partnership between Ratton and Cavendish schools and funded by the Big Lottery.
