EXTREME sports fans are in for a treat this summer as a fantastic new attraction comes to an Eastbourne festival.

The popular Eastbourne Extreme event is set to pull off a UK exclusive with the appearance of an impressive new ramp which mimics the motion of snowboarding and surfing.

On July 16 and 17, extreme sports enthusiasts can enjoy a free turn on the Street Surfing Mega S Ramp which makes its first appearance in England.

Skaters of all levels will be able to have a go and instructors will be on hand to offer tips and advice, with spectators able to watch pro skaters in action demonstrating stunts and tricks.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure Cllr Neil Stanley said “Every year Extreme gets bigger and bigger and to have a UK first will make 2011 extra special.

“With some other fantastic activities taking place across the weekend, including Zero Gravity visiting for the first time, as well as the ION Man Contest, zorbing, parkour and the Battle of the Bands final.”

Zero Gravity is the UK’s leading Freestyle Trials Team who will be entertaining visitors with spectacular bike displays. Chris Doney, one of the world’s best freestyle mountain bike riders and a member of the BBC’s last Top Gear Live World Tour stunt group, will lead a fearless team in a jaw-dropping display of freestyle mountain bike riding.

The Eastbourne seas will be awash with action too as UK Formula Future Offshore Race Club (FFORC) return and race along the shoreline from Sovereign Harbour Marina. To find out more go to eastbourneextreme.co.uk or call 0871 6630031.
