Police in Eastbourne are reminding residents to remain vigilant about home security in the run-up to Christmas following an attempted break-in.
Sometime tried to burgle a terraced house in Seaside during the early hours of Thursday morning (December 5).
The suspect entered the rear garden of the house, near to Woodgate Road, and attempted to force entry via a window. The burglar was unsucessful and may have been disturbed by residents moving around inside the house.
PC Jon Attfield, of the Eastbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, “At all times of the year we advise residents to be security conscious.
“However, with the lead up to Christmas we would advise particular care as so many homes will have presents in them. You can obtain some home safety tips by visiting the Sussex Police website at www.sussex.police.uk, or by contacting a member of your local policing team.”
Police are also appealing for witnesses to any suspicious activity in the area of Seaside and Woodgate Road between 1am and 2am on Thursday.
