Police investigating the death of Lee Molineau have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
The 25-year-old was arrested as part of a police operation in Pevensey Road shortly after 2pm on August 8.
Lee Molineau (pictured), 46, of no fixed address, died at Hurstwood Park neurological unit in Haywards Heath on July 31 after being assaulted seven days earlier.
He had suffered a serious head injury following an argument between him and two women in Seaside Road during which a man intervened and punched the victim to the ground.
The 25-year-old from Eastbourne has been arrested and taken in for questioning on suspicion of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Pollard, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said, “I am grateful for all the help the community has given us but would urge anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact us.”
Two women have already been charged with offences in connection with the incident.
Ruby Heard, 25, of Lexden Drive, Seaford, will appear at Lewes Crown Court on August 23 charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Hayley Whittaker, 22, of Honeycrag Lane, Polegate, has been charged with murder. She will appear at Lewes Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on October 16.
