The driver who died after a crash on the A259 at Exceat on Tuesday (May 7) has been named as Alan Holyoake.
Mr Holyoake, 87, lived in Fairlight Road.
His silver Toyota Aygo left the road and collided with street furniture and trees, just before 7am yesterday.
He was freed from the car and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital at Brighton with serious injuries but sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff he died later that day.
