Eastbourne motorists will face long delays as roadworks for a new supermarket begin on a busy road next Monday (November 16).
A lane of Lottbridge Drove will be closed for nearly 11 weeks – between November 16 and January 26 – as work begins to build a road entrance to the Aldi store in Hampden Park.
The works will take place near Hydneye roundabout in order to connect the store to Lottbridge Drove.
Another exit – through the nearby industrial estate – is also planned to ease traffic on the busy road.
Work on the new supermarket began in August at the site of the old Cosmetica building, which had stood empty for more than five years and fallen into a state of disrepair.
Town planners gave the development the green light last year and the store is expected to open its doors in early 2016.
