Eastbourne man injured in head-on collision

A Eastbourne driver’s car overturned after being involved in a head-on collision on Tuesday morning (December 29).

The 46-year-old from Eastbourne, who was driving a black Toyota Rav 4, was left with minor injuries from the crash.

A second man, a 50-year-old from Brighton who was driving a green Ford Fiesta, received serious internal injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where he underwent surgery. His condition is now stable.

The crash took place on the B2123 Falmer Road, north of Woodingdean at around 8.20am.

The road was closed between Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex football stadium and Bexhill Road, Woodingdean, for two hours while the incident was dealt with.

Police ask anyone who saw the crash or either of the vehicles involved shortly beforehand is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 173 of 29/12.
