Eastbourne man dies of injuries after road crash

AN 87-year-old Eastbourne man has died of his injuries after a road accident yesterday morning.

Sussex Police confirmed this morning that the man died yesterday at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Police have not named the man whose silver Toyota Aygo left the road at the A259 at Exceat. The car collided with street furniture and trees, according to police.

The road was blocked for four hours and roads in the area severely congested while fire services freed the man from his car. He was taken to the Royal Sussex Hospital with serious injuries but despite the best efforts of medical staff he died later in the day.”
