Eastbourne man arrested on suspicion of ‘outraging public decency’

A 45-year-old Eastbourne man has been arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency.

The arrest was made after a man was seen indecently exposing himself to a passer-by in Seaford.

The incident took place on the A259 Sutton Park Road on January 2.

The suspect had alighted from a Brighton to Eastbourne bus at around 7.50pm on Saturday and was walking away from Seaford town centre towards the Downs View Leisure Centre.

He was described as white, 5’6” - 5’7”, and of large build. He was wearing an unbuttoned padded black coat with a black top beneath and dark trousers. He was carrying a bag.

Police are seeking witnesses. Anyone who saw the incident or who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour on the bus is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 872 of 02/01.

The 45-year-old has been released on bail until January 29 while enquiries continue.
