Eastbourne inshore lifeboat called to rescue stricken sportsboat

EASTBOURNE RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was launched on Sunday morning to assist an 8.5 metre sportsboat with engine failure on the approaches to Sovereign Harbour. The sportsboat with three people on board had suffered a mechanical failure just off Sovereign Harbour.

The inshore lifeboat was quickly on scene and took the vessel under tow. In the outer harbour the inline tow was changed to an alongside tow and the casualty vessel taken to the safety of the marina locks
