Eastbourne Herald is pleased to announce this year’s winner of the Pub Of The Year competition.
Old Town’s Lamb Inn has be awarded the accolade. Managed by Natalie and John Lennol for the past six years, under Harveys management for the past 18 months.
Natalie and John have built up The Lamb to be a hugely popular traditional English pub.
Together with their brilliant team, assistant manager Alex O’Neill, Jessica Denyer, James Climpson and head chef Kieran Fifield, they offer a warm friendly atmosphere which has gained them second place with Harveys Mystery Shopper competition and four stars on Trip Advisor.
The Lamb Inn, in the heart of Old Town, offers real Harveys ales and fine wines in a cosy oak beamed atmosphere steeped in history. The cellars and a crypt beneath the public bar dating back to 1180. Other ancient features include the well, gargoyles and an original fireplace. Cellar tours are available by appointment.
Their menu, created by head chef Kieran, caters for every dietary requirement including gluten-free. They have a menu ranging from Artisan rustic breads for lunch, to Harveys hop and ale sausages for the traditionalist; a comprehensive vegetarian menu and a delicious gluten-free fish and chips. Their specials board changes daily so there are always new choices.
The Lamb Inn is dog friendly and also has rooms for B&B. Bookings are now being taken for Christmas parties and New Year’s Eve they have a brilliant 80’s experience with Sound Of the Crowd playing the best of the 80’s, space is limited so they advise early bookings.
