Eastbourne Extreme returns to seafront

Eastbourne’s extreme sports festival returns to the eastern seafront on July 13-14.

Eastbourne Extreme boasts a mixture of air, land and water-based outdoor pursuits with acts including the M.A.D bike display team and the Urban Shadows parkour and free running team.

The M.A.D bike display team, who boast some of Europe’s finest rider’s will be exhibiting throughout the weekend. The Urban Shadows team will be returning for their fifth year at Eastbourne Extreme to wow the crowd with a mix of parkour and free running. Visitors can see the team perform their skills on their specially made platform located behind the Sovereign Centre.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism & Leisure, Cllr Carolyn Heaps said, “Eastbourne Extreme really does sound more exciting than ever this year. It is a privilege to hold this adventurous urban event in our sunny seaside town and I encourage all to get involved or pay a visit.”

This Year Extreme Adventure joins the event, bringing with them a combination of adrenaline-fuelled activities. The mobile high ropes assault course, nicknamed ‘Mont Blanc’, gives participants the chance to challenge themselves on a platform which towers four metres above the ground.

Other attractions include a zip wire, Sk8 School, zorbing, windsurfing, paddle boards, VW Campers and Spray Water Sports and a roller derby featuring local team The Bourne Bombshells and a music festival with bands such as The Vindickers, Loose Lips, 48 Hours, The Broken Chords and Lost in Vegas.
