A man was arrested on a busy Eastbourne road at the weekend after driving with a can of super strength lager balanced on the dashboard.
The driver was stopped on the coast road between Eastbourne and Pevensey Bay on Saturday afternoon.
Police later released a picture of a can of Tennents’ Super lager in the vehicle’s cup holder.
Sussex Police said the man has been charged with being almost double the drink-drive limit, 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.
Officers stopped the man in his Nissan after receiving a tip off about a suspected drunken driver at a nearby retail park.
The Nissan car was tracked down and stopped and the driver, a local man in his 60s, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody and charged later that night.
