The Eastbourne Business Crime Group (EBCG) which includes Eastbourne Borough Council, Sussex Police, Eastbourne Arndale Shopping Centre and members of the local business community, has been awarded the Safer Business Award with distinction from the Association of Business Crime Partnerships.

The Association of Business Crime Partnerships praised EBCG for its work with White Ribbon, its community resolution work and its training for members about fraud.

Formed in April 2003, EBCG now has almost 100 members from both daytime retailers and night time establishments which make up the daytime economy and nightwatch.

Members have access to radio handsets that are part of the town’s security radio network, run by the EBCG to help reduce crime and access support from the police when needed. Members can also access sites that show photographs of offenders that are excluded from local businesses.

If you are a business and would like to be a member of the scheme then please contact Adam Godden on 01323 410000 or email adam.godden@eastbourne.gov.uk.
