An Eastbourne antique shop starred in a Channel 4 television show yesterday (Monday, July 20).

Little Chelsea Antiques Emporium, based in Grove Road, appeared on French Connection, a series where bargain hunters from the UK scour French markets looking for treasures and try to sell them at a profit back home.

Steve Hansen, owner, said: “It was fantastic taking part in the show. We tried very hard to make a real effort.

“I bought an industial lamp, which I would like to put up as a raffle prize for charity, some copper saucepans from the late 19th century , and a chestnut desk, also from the late 19th century.

“It was great fun and a good thing for Eastbourne as a town to be featured.”
