EASTBOURNE Academy has gained Dyslexia Friendly status.

The school in Brodrick Road received an award for becoming a dyslexia friendly school – one of just two secondary schools in the county to gain the status.

A school spokesperson said everyone in the Academy community was working hard to ensure all learners are being included. Some of the improvements include work being presented in learner friendly fonts on coloured paper, ensuring lessons are interactive, all learning styles are catered for and improving the school environment, for example by labelling departments using visuals.
