DYW: Seaside - December 22, 2010

CAROLS at the Crib will be sung at Christ Church in Seaside at 4pm on Friday December 24.

Children are invited to go dressed as figures from the Nativity, such as shepherds, kings, Marys, Josephs, and animals.

MIDNIGHT Mass at Christ Church will begin at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve.

There will also be a Parish Mass at 10.30am on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

A CHRISTMAS day dip in the sea is planned for all swimmers willing to take the plunge and raise money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Swimmers and spectators should meet on the beach opposite the Langham Hotel at 8am, and the hotel will be providing refreshments - including hot mulled wine - to keep everyone warm.

If you would like to join in this charity dip, more details can be obtained from events@stwhospice.org or call 731451 for information or to pledge your support.

THE FILM Forum, which usually meets in the Brodie Hall of Christ Church on the last Friday of the month, will not have a December meeting as it would coincide with New Year’s Eve. The next Forum will therefore be on January 28.

A NEW Year’s Eve four-course gala dinner with live cabaret, fireworks and dancing until 1am, will be held at the Langham Hotel in Royal Parade on Friday, December 31, at 7.15pm for 8.15pm.

For all enquiries call 731451 as soon as possible to be sure of a place.

TRADITIONAL Sussex Songs will be the theme when local historian and author Chris Hare is guest speaker at two Ladies’ Lunches next month.

Known for bringing history to life, his amusing and informative talk will also include a few songs, and the menu will have some traditional Sussex dishes such as the famous Sussex Pond Pudding,

The lunches will be at the Langham Hotel on Tuesday, January 11, and Wednesday, January 12, at noon for 12.30pm, and cost £16 per person.

You are advised to book as soon as possible to be certain of a place. Call 731451 or email frontdesk@langhamhotel.co.uk
