Police are appealing for the driver of a small mid-blue coloured car to come forward following a collision in Uckfield where two people died.

Emergency services were called to Eastbourne Road in Ridgewood at 4.51pm on Sunday night (March 12) after reports of a serious collision involving a white Peugeot Boxer van. The van was travelling south and left the road colliding with a tree.

Police say the two people in the vehicle, a 22-year-old man and 27-year-old woman both from Uckfield, were both sadly declared dead at the scene.

PC Stuart Watson said: “The driver of a small blue coloured car that was seen close to the collision may have information which could help us with the investigation. If you are the driver of this vehicle or know the driver, please contact us.”

Contact police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or ring 101 quoting Operation Eastern.
