ALL your Christmas shopping in one pleasant evening, and all under the same roof? You have that marvellous opportunity tonight (Tuesday, 7.30pm- 9.30pm) when The Special Parents Group, who meet regularly at the Children’s Centre in Maywood Avenue, hold an enormous Christmas Shopping Evening at St Elisabeth’s Church in Victoria Drive. Stalls include make-up, jewellery, crafts, cards, toys, and Christmas hampers, in addition to a raffle and festive refreshments.
IF YOU still have someone on your Christmas list to buy for, then get along to Hampden Park Community Hall in Brodrick Road, on Saturday, December 1, 10am-3pm, for a big Christmas Fair. Opened by the Mayor, there will be stalls and stands galore and also a raffle held by Eastbourne Neighbourhood Watch Association. Refreshments will be available and there is parking behind the Brassey Parade shops.
SANTA Claus will visit Parkland Infants School on Wednesday, December 5, from 3.15pm, for the school’s annual Christmas Fair. There will be lots of games, cake and gift stalls, tombola and raffle, plus refreshments.
FOR residents living in the general area of the Frenchgate Centre, off the Hydenye, you can enjoy coffee and a chat every Friday, 1pm-3pm. This weekly event was first organized for anyone concerned about the unfortunate incident which took place in that area a while ago. But it has proved so popular it has now become a regular welcoming place to meet local councillors, representatives of the police and many other local agencies .
IF YOU are not sure who is in your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, you will have an excellent chance to meet them on Thursday, December 6. Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Lee Osborn and Police Constable (PC) Rachel Bourne will be outside Tesco Metro in Brassey Parade, 3pm -4pm, and look forward to meeting residents.
For those living in or near Walsingham Close, off Croxden Way, they can meet PCSO Lee Osborn and PC Dave Selby between 5pm and 5.30pm, followed by another Street Meeting at 5.30pm at the junction of Frenchgate Road and Court Road, led by PCSO Brett Williams and PC Dave Selby. Finally at 6pm you can meet PCSO Brett Wiliams and our lovely new PCSO, Chris Wild, in Glynde Avenue.
There will be other agencies supporting these meetings, to talk through any problems or concerns.
ON Saturday, December 15, ‘Heaven Invites You To A Party’ is being held at the Broadway United Church just off Lindfield Road, 3pm-5pm. It is a celebration of modern Christmas songs, led by the St Aiden’s Praise Singers and will be followed by a substantial buffet afterwards in the Church Hall. The afternoon is entirely free, and sounds to be an unusual event, not to be missed
