DICKER SUNDAY SERVICES: 9.15am Holy Communion – Upper Dicker. The Vicar will be asking “Any Upper Dicker Questions?” The 9.15am service will include a time for Questions and Answers. The sermon slot is often all one way, but on this occasion the congregation is being asked to bring questions that the Vicar can give comment on and for others to chip in. If you have a question that you might like raised, then email the Vicar on vicar.hellingly@gmail.com.

Harvest Festival service is at 6.30pm Sunday 20 Sept and is a joint service with Bede’s School at the church.

COFFEE & BOOKS: There are weekly coffee mornings with a book exchange at Dicker Hall 10.40am to 12noon every Thursday. Book Exchange or purchase 20p.

QUIZ NIGHT: Bookings now being taken for the Dicker Village Hall Quiz night on Saturday 26 September at Dicker Village Hall 7pm for 7.30 start. Tickets Adults £7, Children (Under 12) £3.50. ARLINGTON PARISH COUNCIL: The next meeting is on Thursday 17 September at 7.30pm in Arlington Village Hall. The Leisure & Recreation Advisory Committee meet on Tuesday 15 September 7.30pm Arlington Village Hall. Check the website for the agenda at http://www.arlingtonparish.org.uk.

RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION AGM: Go along on Thursday 24 September at 7.30pm in the Dicker Village Hall. The DRA is here to inform about issues and changes affecting amenities and works by identifying and addressing those matters of importance to residents to enhance the quality of life for all, by all appropriate means. Do go along to make sure that activities and focus is representative of the views of all members. Up to six committee members are elected at this AGM. If you wish to join the committee, please submit your nomination, proposed and seconded by the 19 September to Marian Richards, DRA Secretary, mcdrichards@sky.com. The officers of the DRA are elected from the committee, by the committee.

VILLAGE GREEN: The competition to re-design the Village Green at Upper Dicker closed on 1 September. Find out the winners at 12 noon on Sat 19 Sept on the Village Green.:

MEDIEVAL WEEKEND: Immerse yourself in the medieval world at Michelham Priory this Saturday and Sunday. The weekend brings together over 140 re-enactors along with traders, musicians and medieval enthusiasts from across the country. Displays represent history from the 11th century Vikings to the late 15th century medieval period. A time when rush hour meant making rush mats and central heating was a mug of hot mead. Visit the living history encampments, try your hand at longbow archery or just sit back and enjoy some medieval music. Displays and hands-on activities for all ages throughout the day. Normal opening times and admission prices apply from 10.30am to 5pm at Michelham Priory, Upper Dicker, Hailsham BN27 3QS.
