FOOTNOTES: The recent spell of fine weather has had Jack and myself foraging further afield and exploring the countryside around us. A quick nip up that lovely road the C7, ( yes I know some people moan about it, but both Jack and I have lived in West Somerset and appreciate a country road that we are not pulling over to let other traffic pass), into Lewes. We spent a pleasant hour or so investigating the castle, then the market and strolled around what is one of the prettiest towns in Sussex. Jack was showing signs of tiredness, so we beat a retreat for home, travelling between hedgerows bedecked with cow parsley and the scent of the fields flowing in through the open windows of the car. Jacks ears blown back by the wind and a beautific smile on his face, as he stuck his head out of the car. I knew how he felt. Enjoy your week and stay safe.
