QUIZ: Seahaven Lioness Club’s latest quiz night raised nearly £200 for local charities held at the Over 60’s Club, Seaford on Saturday October 10. The quiz was won by the MP’s team whose four members were each presented with a bottle of wine. Around 50 people enjoyed the quiz with a fish and chip supper. New members from Newhaven, Peacehaven and Seaford would be warmly welcomed by the club, which raises around £7,000 a year for charities. For more information contact Pat White on 01323 894085.
SEAFORD FAIRTRADE: Is holding their fun quiz night today Friday 7pm at St Leonard’s Church Hall, Church Lane. Tickets are £6 which includes a meal and glass of Fairtrade wine. Please contact either 01323 891871 or 491638.
LUNCHTIME CONCERT: At St Leonard’s Church tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 1pm and last approximately one hour. The concert is free but with a retiring collection. Zoe Davies (clarinet), Siriol Hugh-Jones (cello) and Steve Carol-Turner (piano) will be playing Beethoven Trio in B Flat Major Opus 11 and Miniatures by Paul Juon.
SWEETHEARTS WI: Will be meeting on Tuesday, 8pm at Claremont Hall, Brooklyn Road. New members welcomed.
MUSEUM: Seaford Museum and Heritage Centre, Martello Tower, The Esplanade on Wednesday from 10am to noon a Halloween Half Term Event for children. Tel: 01323 898222.
PRINT AND PAINT: Is by artist’s Chris Hill and Moira Wills. The event will be held at The Crypt Gallery, Church Street from Saturday October 31 to Sunday November 8, 10.30am to 5.30pm.
HARD OF HEARING CLUB: Meet at St James, Blatchington Road on the first Friday of each month. The next meeting is Friday November 6 at 2.15pm. Our speaker will be Mrs Davina Mayes who will be speaking of her experiences as a British Legion Standard Bearer. We are a friendly group who will welcome anyone who wishes to attend. Tea and biscuits will be provided.
TALK: A talk by Ian Everest and Philip Pople on Bishopstone Nostalgia is being held on Saturday October 31 at 7pm Bishopstone Parish Hall. Tickets are £7.50 which includes cheese, biscuits and a glass of wine. Tickets are available from Linda’s Store, Bishopstone Station or ring 01323 492246 for further details.
