PEVENSEY VILLAGE SIGN: If you have not sen it yet go and take a look. The Post has now been painted black so it fits in well against the backdrop of the Castle.

CASTLE COTTAGE TEAROOMS: Is at long last soon to reopen, after several years of neglect. Visitors to the castle will be able to call in the tearooms which were once very popular and you can take a look at their website to get a taste of what is coming ! There is still however one building needing attention in Pevensey now and that is the Mint House.

The Parish Council have been trying to find if anything can be done to try and stop the building deteriorating, but the answer seems to be although it is listed nothing can be done.

I wonder if the medieval wall paintings mentioned in the ‘listing’ of the building are still surviving.

WEDDING WITH A DIFFERENCE: There will be a dull roar in Pevensey this Saturday. The sound of approaching thunder will not hopefully be the weather but a wedding taking place at St Nicolas.

The bride and groom are two keen bikers evidently and so Pevensey will have its own cavalcade of fifty or more motorbikes marking the occasion.

CHARITY QUIZ PRIORY COURT: By the time you read this the second monthly Charity Quiz will have taken place (in aid of Sussex Air Ambulance).

The first quiz raised over £200 for the St Nicolas 800 Appeal.

If you are involved in a local Charity and would like to nominate it then come along to one of the quizzes being held at 7.30 on the third Wednesday of every month. To book phone 01323 763150

PEVENSEY BAY LIBRARY: Hopefully the Library will still be reset to open at the end of this month of August 30th.
