AIRBOURNE: A Spectacular display in Eastbourne but long queues of cars everywhere else. We waited nearly forty minutes for a Bus on Saturday because evidently most of the buses were caught up in the Eastbourne traffic and could not return on time, and finally when it arrived late it was full !! It was evidently taking an hour and a half to get to Pevensey from Bexhill such were the queues. We do not need the fumes and noise in Pevensey Bay and Pevensey. Surely the organisers should provide large Park and Ride Car Parks outside the Town maybe even at Pevensey and then ban all but local traffic going into the town where drivers faced with a £4 parking charge were trying to Park all over the place to avoid paying. Maybe Eastbourne should take a note of how Lewes manage to run a Bonfire Night every year without brining traffic chaos to all the surrounding villages.

PEVENSEY FLOWER FESTIVAL: will be taking place on the Bank Holiday Weekend Saturday August 29 till Monday 31st at St Nicolas Church and there’s more than flowers, this year there is something called Dewbys Mini Ring which is on loan for the Festival. Confused? Well this is actually your opportunity to have a go at Bell Ringing on a small scale.

PEVENSEY FETE: Its a busy end to the month with the Fete taking place in the Memorial Hall from 11 till 16.00. There will be loads of Stalls from Books, Clothes, Jam and Cakes. Traditional Games and of course refreshments and a Beer tent and your chance to enter the Summer Draw with a first prize of £100

WRONG WAY!: Traffic chaos was nearly caused in the Bay a couple of week ago when a massive Articulated Circus Lorry with a Trailer coming down Wallsend Road decided to turn up the one way into Richmond Road. Unfortunately by the time the driver realised it was one way, he could not manoeuvre back again. Quick thinking his companion jumped out the cab and made all the traffic pull over and stop right the way up the road so he could continue with only the most minor of Traffic Jams
