COMMUNITY WISE: IN Ocklynge Road, will be holding a ‘Christmas for Less’ Market on Saturday November 28 from 10-12.30pm. Father Christmas has marked this date on his calendar already and will be in attendance to meet people and see the interesting stalls filling the centre. Many local craft and goods enterprises will be represented. One of the aims of Community Wise is to serve the community and promote community spirit. The facilities have recently undergone extensive refurbishment and upgrading which has significantly expanded the available space. There are very many regular activities and events for all ages in the centre each week. This Christmas Market at Community Wise is an annual event and proves year after year to be very popular and very well supported. It is a great opportunity to buy gifts and prepare for Christmas without spending huge sums of money; there will be a bumper gift stall and all kinds of items for sale, including locally produced and grown food and hand-made craft items. Entry is free and refreshments will be available. The Christmas for Less Christmas market at Community Wise will be an enjoyable opportunity to get ready for Christmas and to engage with the local community. Everyone will be very welcome.

JENNY WREN’S NURSERY SCHOOL: at Greenfield Methodist Church, Green Street, will be holding a Christmas Fair on Saturday 5th December from 10-12pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in the activities. There will be a raffle, tombola, plus many more stalls for you to browse. Money raised will help the children at the playschool.

EASTBOURNE SWIMMING CLUB: will be celebrating their 150th Anniversary next year and I am compiling the history of the club. If you have any photos, newspaper cuttings, information or simply memories of the club, please could you forward them to me at the above web address.

THIS WILL BE MY LAST column of 2015:, so I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
