THE SUSSEX WILDLIFE TRUST:, Eastbourne Group, next meets, as usual, at the Victoria Baptist Church, Eldon Road on Thursday September 17 commencing at 7.30pm, at which there will be an illustrated talk titled, “The Medmerry Project & RSPB Reserve,” by RSPB Senior Warden, Peter Hughes. The talk will take you through the development of this new Reserve & flood protection scheme at Medmerry, in West Sussex, which has successfully created an extensive wetland wildlife habitat. The admission charge is £2.00 for SWT Members and £3.00 for Non-Members and tea/coffee/biscuits will be served during the interval for which a there is charge of 50p. There is a large car park at the Church and Visitors are very welcome. U3A SINGING HARMONY Group: meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday from September 21 until July 18 2016 (inclusive), at 3.30pm until 4.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join this new group to sing in harmony with the emphasis on fun. If you haven’t sung in a choir before, don’t worry because there is no need to read music although sheet music is provided (£5 for year). We learn the music as we go along and it is possible to record for you to learn at home if you wish. There are no auditions or concerts as we are meeting just for the pleasure of singing together in harmony a wide range of songs, from easy music in 2 parts to a few more challenging arrangements in 3 or 4 parts. Recent songs included Shepherd’s Farewell, Gitika, The History of Western Music, Goodnight Sweetheart, How Much is that Doggie? Warm Be the Sun, Siakudumisa, Steal Away, Allundé and One May Morning. Membership is £12.50 a year.

LITTLE BEARS: SOFT PLAY has a weekly session at The Community Wise Centre, Ocklynge Road every Monday from 9.30-11.30am. Please contact 07985 254735 for more information about Little Bears and how you can hire their equipment for your activity.
