ST GEORGE’S DAY PARTY: Tomorrow, Saturday, at Herstmonceux Village Hall. With or without a two course meal. There will be entertainment, Licensed Bar 6.15pm for 6.45pm to start serving £15. If you do not wish to have the meal, come along at 8pm for the entertainment and just £7. Either way, please contact Laurence Keeley on 01323 832660 for tickets and to let him know you are coming. Surplus moneys to be shared between the Veteran Blind Association and the Lifeboat Association.

BONSAI CLUB AND SHOW: Eastbourne and Wealden Bonsai Club will be having a talk and demonstration by an expert in growing bonsai Satsuki Azaleas. This will be held at St Mary’s Church Hall, Hampden Park on Monday May 9 at 7.30pm. Visitors are welcome and entrance will be £5. The club is holding its annual show at Herstmonceux Village Hall on

Sunday May 22 from 10am to 4pm. As well as a display of member’s trees there will be four other bonsai clubs each with a display of their club’s best trees. Other items of interest will include, demonstrations by Graham Potter from Kaizen Bonsai, Chinese painting, trade stands from Downsview Bonsai, Limecross Nursery and Pinecone Ceramics. Information about growing bonsai, a raffle and refreshments, as well as voting for your favourite tree and display, will make it a full and interesting visit for all the family.
