CHURCH SERVICES: All Saints Church Service this Sunday 9.45am Advent Carol Service followed at 5pm Christingle Service with the Free Church. On Thursday 3 December 11am Friends Meeting House Holy Communion (BCP) and on Sunday 6 December 9.45am Family Service. St Mary Magdalene, Wartling at 8am Holy Communion (BCP). Next Sunday 6 the Wartling Service is at 8am Holy Communion (BCP) followed at 6pm by Evensong.
SCHOOL FAIR: Herstmonceux Primary School is having its Christmas Fair from 11am to 2pm. It is usually a fun packed few hours with opportunities to pick up bargains for Christmas, meet Santa, have some fun on the stalls and enjoy refreshments, barbecue, tea and cakes. This year new in our fair it is the Elf’s Christmas Shop where your child can come and visit to purchase a special gift for you or a family member. Make your Christmas extra magical.
LIME CROSS CHRISTMAS: Over the weekend of November 28 and 29 there will be Christmas trees, decorations and gifts, a cooking demonstration, wine tasting station, pop-up dining, hog roast and more at Lime Cross Nursery from 8.30am to 5pm. There will also be autumn planting tips, and reviving Madeira mountain ash, orchid surgery, book signing and much more.
CHRISTMAS FAIR: On Saturday December 5 at Herstmonceux village hall in aid of All Saints Church from 10am to noon there will be lots of stalls, cakes, Christmas gifts, jewellery, games, children’s crafts and singing by the Community Choir. Mulled wine and mince pies. Adults 50p, children free.
SUNDAY WALKS: On Sunday December 7 meet at 10am at the Old Loom Mill on the Cuckoo trail. Walk leaders are Judith and Sally (485769). Enjoy tea and cake in Polegate before return. Also on Sunday December 28 at 10am meet at the Cuckoo Trail car park, Hellingly. Walk leader is Sue (848790). This is a 4 mile local walk with soup and cake after. If you would like to go along ring the walk leaders for any more details and to let them know to look out for you.
HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: On Saturday December 5 it is the society’s AGM followed by a quiz. They are meeting at 2pm for 2.30pm start in Reid Hall, Boreham Street.
RAY AND SHELDON: The over 60s club will be meeting at Herstmonceux village hall for a Christmas party on Friday December 11 at 2.15. Recycled with Carols will be providing the entertainment. Enquiries to Anne on 01323 441244.
COFFEE MORNING: The Vitality Village coffee morning and sing-along is on Monday December 21 between 10am and noon at Herstmonceux Health Centre. Visitors will be serenaded by members of the singing workshop and Bea will be making a sugar free Christmas cake, worth coming along to see if it passes the test.
