CHURCH SERVICES: All Saints Church Service this Sunday is at 11am with Herstmonceux Harvest Festival and at St Mary Magdalene at 8am Holy Communion (BCP).
WALKING GROUP: On Sunday at 10am meet in School Hill, Old Heathfield for a 4 mile walk which could be muddy followed by an optional pub lunch. Contact Jenny 840777 for further details and to let her know you would like to come along.
LOCAL HISTORY TALK: Tomorrow, Saturday, evening there is a talk at Herstmonceux Church from Dr Scott McClean titled The Archaeology of Herstmonceux Castle and Pevensey Levels. He has worked for 15 years at Herstmonceux Castle and is an authority on the discoveries which take occupation and human activity at the edge of Pevensey Levels back 5000 years. The talk is illustrated with artefacts recovered from excavations into the insights to the life of those living in the Herstmonceux and Wartling area from the Bronze Age to Henry VIII. This finishes off the Gift day for the renovations and the church will be decorated for Harvest. The talk starts at 7.30pm and costs £10 which includes light refreshments glass of wine or fruit juice. All proceeds will go towards the renovations of the church.
