Hellingly and Horsebridge

HELLINGLY CHURCH: 8am Holy Communion Hellingly, 10.45am Holy Communion. All welcome. Every Thursday 9.30am BCP Holy Communion at Hellingly. Also this Sunday at 5pm Hellingly church has been invited to go and lead the service in the Eastbourne District General Hospital Chapel. They shall be broadcast on Hospital Radio and need to be there soon after 4.30pm. Do go along and join them.

OPEN GARDENS: On Sunday from 11am to 5pm six gardens will be open to view. In addition, between 2pm and 4pm a brass band will play at Brook Cottage, Mill Lane, where coffees, lunches, teas will be served during the day. All donations for the International Pestalozzi International Village Trust.

DICKER SUNDAY SERVICES: 9.15am Holy Communion Upper Dicker. Next Sunday, September 13, The Vicar will be asking Any Upper Dicker Questions? The 9.15am service will include a time for Questions and Answers. The sermon slot is often all one way, but on this occasion the congregation is being asked to bring questions that the Vicar can give comment on and for others to chip in. If you have a question that you might like raised, then send it to the Vicar on vicar.hellingly@gmail.com.

COFFEE AND BOOKS: There are weekly coffee mornings with a book exchange at Dicker Hall 10.40am to noon every Thursday. Book Exchange or purchase 20p.

BASKETRY WEEKEND: The Sussex Archaeological Society are running a Reed Mace (bulrush) Basketry course from tomorrow, Saturday, between 10.30am to 4.30pm and on Sunday, 10.30am to 1pm at Michelham Priory. QUIZ NIGHT: Bookings now being taken for the Dicker Village Hall Quiz night on Saturday September 26 at Dicker Village Hall 7pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets adults £7, children (under 12) £3.50. FLOWER SHOW: The Arlington and Upper Dicker Produce and Flower Show is tomorrow, Saturday, at 3pm in Arlington Village Hall. There are classes for vegetables, fruit, flowers, flower arranging, cookery, children’s classes and craftwork.
