HELLINGLY CHURCH: 8 am Holy Communion – Hellingly, 10.45 am Family Service – Hellingly. Every Thursday 9.30 am BCP Holy Communion at Hellingly.
MOTHERS UNION: The next meeting is at 7.15pm on Tuesday at Hellingly church. Colin Tourle will share his choice of the eight discs he would like to have with him on a desert island. Last month, Hellingly MU welcomed Kathryn Anderson in June. Kathryn talked about her trip to Kenya last year and members thoroughly enjoyed an interesting, friendly and cosy meeting. After a short service Kathryn showed slides from her memorable trip and you could tell from her stories, how much the party of eight who travelled to Kenya, got out of the whole experience. It will be something they will never forget. The roads they travelled on were terribly dusty and rough, but all the faces they saw, especially the children were always smiling. Dishes of local food were prepared everywhere they went and it was a pleasure to welcome fellow MU members. The trip was very busy, visiting many MU groups, seeing the faith they had and the things they do and were moved by the fact that these people have nothing, but are so happy and welcoming. They have their faith and that is everything to them. The trip remains so close to Kathryn’s heart. They met and worshipped with many people. Kathryn shared her feelings of becoming the new Diocesan President at the end of December when Chris Emson finishes her six years of office. She was feeling quite nervous but very much looking forward to the challenge.
