SEA SUNDAY: The annual Sea Sunday Service is on Sunday, July 12 at 10.15am in St Andrew’s Church in the presence of Mrs Sara Stonor, Vice Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex. The guest preacher this year will be the Rev Andrew Wright, Secretary General of the Mission to Seafarers.
LADIES BREAKFAST: St Andrew’s Church Deanery Ladies Breakfast is on Saturday, July 18 at 10am in Bishopstone Parish Hall. Dr Ruth Butlin will be speaking on The Mercy of the Mental Health Act. Tickets cost £4 and are available from Lily Holland.
SUMMER FETE: The Summer Fete is on Saturday, August 1. Now is the time to start turning out to find donations for the stalls. Janet Wright is collecting handbags, purses, beach bags, umbrellas, scarves and shoes for her stall. Please leave these items either in St Andrew’s Church Tower or at 2 Eadric House.
FREE HORSE MANURE: Is available on west (Newhaven) side of Bishopstone Road between Bishopstone Estate and Bishopstone Pond: help yourself, but please return or replace the bags.
THE SEA: The sea can be dangerous and last weekend a survey took place of our local historic shipwrecks found on the foreshore organised by MOLA CITiZAN (or Museum of London Archaeology - Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network). This is part of a three-year national project and volunteers learnt how to measure and record between tides quicker than Time Team.
